Through Prometric, IBLCE’s testing vendor, IBCLC examination candidates have access to one of the largest global testing networks. To see locations of testing centres, visit the Prometric website to search for your preferred location. Prometric also provides information related to test centre closings.
In addition to this extensive test centre network, Live Remote Proctoring (LRP) allows candidates to sit the IBCLC examination in their home or other suitable private location. Currently, LRP examinations are offered in English and Spanish only. LRP examinations are an increasingly reliable alternative to testing in a traditional test centre. Additional “Pop-up Site” Locations
As needed, we work to facilitate additional locations known as “Pop-up Sites” for regional or geographic areas where there is no test centre available or there is limited test centre capacity, especially where LRP examinations are not readily available.
Pop-up sites can only be requested for underserved regions where a minimum number of candidates plan to sit the IBCLC examination during any given administration.
If you live in an area where you believe there may be adequate candidate demand for a Pop-up Site, please contact the region that serves you so we can coordinate with candidates in the area to determine if we will meet the minimum volume required by the testing vendor for a Pop-up Site.
Pop-up Site Locations Requested for the September 2025 Examination Administration
Based on trends in recent candidate data, below is a list of Pop-up Sites that we have requested from the testing vendor for the September 2025 examination. This is not a guarantee that these site(s) will be available.
Scheduling an appointment at a testing location will take place beginning in July 2025 for the September 2025 examination. Scheduling for Pop-up Sites may not be available until later.
Please carefully consider the available test centre locations and Pop-up sites below. Candidates have the option to sit the examination via LRP English or Spanish. Please note that these options are available for September 2025 examination candidates.
