IBCLC Programme staff is pleased to share that, as of July 15, 2025, all IBCLCs have received a digital certificate, including those IBCLCs who recently received a passing score for the April 2025 examination. IBCLCs who have recently recertified by CERPs should keep an eye on their inboxes as they will be receiving a new certificate in the coming months.
Moving forward, new IBCLCs and IBCLCs who successfully recertify by examination should receive their digital certificate within six to eight weeks of receiving a passing examination result. IBCLCs who successfully recertify by CERPs will receive an updated digital certificate before their current certificate expires. These will be issued incrementally throughout the recertification window.
As a reminder, digital certificates allow you to:
- Add your credential to your LinkedIn profile
- Download and print your certificate
- Add your IBCLC badge to your email signature
You can learn more about using IBCLC digital certificates on the How to Use IBLCE’s Online Systems page.
IBLCE has also made printed certificates and ID cards available for purchase. To order a printed certificate or ID card, please log in to your IBLCE online credential management account.
IBLCE announced the transition to digital certificates in the October 2024 Briefing. This change is based on feedback from the 2023 IBLCE customer experience survey, where a significant majority of IBCLCs in all languages indicated that they would like to receive a digital certificate more immediately rather than a paper certificate.
