Sara Blair Lake, J.D., CAE has over two decades of experience as the chief staff executive for healthcare associations and certification boards with 15 years with global organisations. Sara currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Institute for Credentialing Excellence (I.C.E.) and previously served as the Chair for the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) of I.C.E., the accreditation body for professional certification programmes, including the IBCLC.
Previously, Sara served as the Chair of the Certified Association Executive (CAE) Commission of the American Association of Association Executives (ASAE), which is the certifying body for the professional certification which she herself holds, the CAE. The CAE is widely regarded as the mark of an association professional who has demonstrated the wide range of knowledge essential to manage an association in today’s environment. Sara also previously served on the ASAE International Council and the Healthcare Committee. She has presented and authored extensively on association management, professional certification, and accreditation, particularly regarding international issues.
She holds a Bachelor’s in Economics and a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and is proud to promote the IBCLC, the gold standard in lactation care.
